This is a 27-year-old Islay single malt bottled by the Swiss independent bottler C. Dully Selection, in a 70cl bottle at 47.8% ABV. It is a vatting of bourbon barrels, made up as a cask-strength bottling of 316 bottles.
It belongs to the Map Label series and comes from a distillery on Islay's south coast known for a medicinal, peaty character.
On the nose there is campfire smoke, earth and leather, with iodine and sticking plaster softened by seaweed and sea spray, and honey sweetness over tropical fruit. The palate leads with peat smoke and medicinal notes, lifted by lemon, grapefruit and orange peel, then apricot and peach.
