Isle of Fionia Danish Oak is an organic Danish single malt from Nyborg Destilleri on Funen, matured in casks made from Danish oak. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration.
The Danish oak is what sets it apart: it is said to bring deeper spice, structure and complexity than the American and French oak more commonly used.
Honey, ripe pear, vanilla, dried fruit and nuts come through on the nose. The palate is full and balanced, with caramel, ripe fruit, oak and toasted nuts. The finish is long and soft, with spice and lasting sweetness.
