Isle of Raasay – Limited Release Marsala Cask Hebridean Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 50.7%)

This is a limited release single malt from Isle of Raasay, made from lightly peated spirit and bottled at 50.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was matured fully in ex-Frazzitta Marsala Vergine barriques. Marsala Vergine is a fortified wine from Marsala in Sicily, and Frazzitta is a Marsala producer founded in the 19th century. The nose has grape must, a slight sharpness, sweetness and parma violets. The palate brings stewed apples, ginger, maple syrup, sweet pear and a note of balsamic vinegar. The finish is long, with lingering smoke.
