J. Henry Patton Road Reserve is a Wisconsin straight bourbon from J. Henry & Sons, bottled at cask strength, uncut and unfiltered. It has been aged for a minimum of seven years in charred oak barrels, through the wide temperature swings of the upper Midwest.
The result is a dark, syrupy bourbon bottled at barrel proof, typically around 119 to 120 proof.
The nose is roasted sweet corn, dark berries, ginger and white pepper. On the palate it is thick and oily, with dark fruit, cinnamon, rye spice and woody caramel. The finish is very long and warming, with toasted wood, barrel spice and a hint of old leather.
