James Ownby Reserve is a small-batch Tennessee straight bourbon made by the team at Ole Smoky Distillery. It is named in tribute to the great-great-great-great-great grandfather of the distillery's founder. The spirit is filtered through sugar maple charcoal using the Lincoln County Process and aged in virgin American charred oak barrels. It is bottled at 94 proof in a 750ml bottle.
The nose brings toasted oak, caramel, vanilla bean, dried fruit and baking spice. The palate is soft and medium-bodied, with vanilla, brown sugar, orange peel and banana bread. The finish is warm and gentle, with brown sugar and toasted wood.
