This is an 18 year old Irish blend of pot still and grain whiskeys, bottled at cask strength of 55.1% ABV (110.2 proof). It is triple distilled and non-chill filtered, and Batch 1/2019 is the second annual release of the Bow Street series.
The whiskey was distilled and matured at Midleton in County Cork, in American bourbon barrels and Spanish sherry butts. It then went to Jameson's original home on Bow Street in Dublin for a final six to twelve months in first fill bourbon barrels. It was released in August 2019.
The nose offers baked lemon, vanilla toffee and ground ginger over polished oak. The palate is warm and fruity, with toffee, caramel and vanilla before ginger and spice build. The finish is long, with dried banana, herbal notes and lemongrass.
