Kadamba Champagne Barrel is an Indian single malt finished in French Champagne casks after maturation in oak. It is bottled at 42.8% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The Champagne casks add orchard fruit, citrus and a wine character to the malt sweetness, with vanilla, gentle peat and spice behind.
On the nose, green and red apple lead into grapefruit and lemon, over malt, vanilla, gentle peat and toasted oak. The palate is smooth and malty, with vanilla, caramel, fresh orchard fruit and bright citrus. The medium finish is warming, with caramel, oak, subtle peat, tobacco and leather.
