Hatozaki is a Japanese blended malt from The Kaikyo Distillery in Akashi, made from 100% malted barley. The name refers to Japan's oldest lighthouse, which dates from 1620. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is matured in sherry casks, bourbon casks and Mizunara oak.
The nose is light in style, led by malt aromas, with nectarine and banana. On the palate there is grain sweetness, a touch of honey and cask char, stone fruit and orange blossom. The finish is sweet, with nuts and cereal.
