Kanekou Okinawa Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Kanekou Okinawa Whisky comes from the Shinzato Distillery, the oldest family-run distillery in Okinawa, established in 1846. Seventh-generation owner and master blender Naoya Shinzato blends malt, wheat and rice whisky, the last known as Ryukyu Whisky, and the whisky is bottled at 43% ABV. The malt and wheat whiskies are aged for three years or more, while the rice whisky spends more than eight years in sherry casks. Okinawa's hot, humid climate speeds maturation, and the Pacific breeze is said to add a touch of subtropical flavour. The nose is nectar, sweet cream, citrus, pineapple and other tropical fruit. The palate brings citrus, ginger candy and minerals, followed by a long finish with lingering sweetness.
