Kanekou Okinawa Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Kanekou Okinawa Whisky is made by the Shinzato Distillery, the oldest family-run distillery in Okinawa, founded in 1846. Seventh-generation owner and master blender Naoya Shinzato blends malt whisky, wheat whisky and a rice whisky called Ryukyu Whisky. The malt and wheat whiskies are aged for three years or more, and the rice whisky spends more than eight years in sherry casks. It is bottled at 43%. The nose is nectar, sweet cream, citrus and pineapple with other tropical fruit. On the palate come citrus, ginger candy and minerals, followed by a long finish with lingering sweetness.
