This is a peated Japanese single malt from the Kanosuke Distillery in Kagoshima, bottled as the official release for the 13th Chichibu Whisky Matsuri. The distillery has issued a festival bottling each year since 2024. It was distilled in October 2019, matured for six years in a first-fill Manzanilla cask and bottled in January 2026 at 61% ABV. The outturn is 568 bottles of 70cl.
Manzanilla is a dry, coastal sherry from Sanlúcar de Barrameda. The nose is bog myrtle, turf and creosote, with a medicinal peatiness, moss, dry hay, chamomile tea, menthol, brown sugar candy and sweet bean paste.
