Kanosuke 2023 Limited Edition Cask Strength (59%)

This is a 2023 limited edition single malt from the Kanosuke Distillery in Japan, bottled at a cask strength of 59%. It is a marriage of peated distillates from 2018 and 2019. The distillery was founded in 2017 and belongs to the Komasa family, who have made spirits, shochu above all, since 1883. Sherry casks and former shochu casks were used, along with re-charred American white oak. The nose has a fine veil of smoke over lively citrus and a little cinnamon spice, with ripe plum and candied fruit.
