This is a single cask single malt from the Kanosuke Distillery in Kagoshima, bottled for the Whisky Talk Fukuoka festival in 2023. It was distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2023 at 57% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was aged in a bourbon cask and a white wine cask.
The nose is fresh pear and green apple with honeyed sweetness, vanilla bean and a little cinnamon or nutmeg. The palate is juicy fruit with a touch of heat, and oak begins to show as it develops. The finish is fairly short and lively, with lingering fruit, baking spice and gentle warmth.
