Kanosuke – Hioki Pot Still 2024 Limited Edition (70cl, 55%)

Kanosuke Hioki Pot Still 2024 is a Japanese pot still whisky from Kagoshima, made from malted barley and locally sourced un-malted barley. It was distilled in stainless steel pot stills under vacuum pressure at the Hioki distillery and is bottled at 55% in a 70cl bottle. Maturation took place in new American white oak and ex-Bourbon casks, with re-charred ex-shochu casks added. This limited edition won a Gold medal in the Pot Still category at the 2025 World Whiskies Awards. The distillery describes creme brulee, new oak, apricots and fresh plums on the nose, with vanilla, caramel sauce and charred oak on the palate. The finish is oily, with dark chocolate, cocoa and matcha.
