Kanosuke 'Rainbow Girl' is a single cask Japanese single malt from the Kanosuke Distillery in Kagoshima, bottled at 61% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in September 2020 and bottled in May 2026, with 258 bottles released.
The whisky spent about three years in a shochu cask and two in a red wine cask. The label, titled 'The Rainbow Girl', was designed by the artist Saumya Bharati and is the second in a collaborative series with them.
The nose offers baked apples, prunes and brown sugar-coated cashews with vanilla ice cream. The palate brings caramel fudge, cacao nibs, pink grapefruit and ripe cherry, and the finish is creamy salted caramel with a clean citrus aftertaste.
