Kanosuke Single Malt 2021 Second Edition is a Japanese single malt from the Kanosuke Distillery in Kagoshima, made with non-peated malt. It was distilled in 2018 and matured for three years in bourbon casks, then vatted from several casks and bottled at a cask strength of 57% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is rich, with vanilla, caramel, honey, ripe fruit and a hint of spice. The palate is smooth and creamy, balancing sweetness with spice, and the fruit comes through as grapefruit, peach and apricot. The finish is long and lingering, with a touch of oak.
