Kanosuke – Single Malt 2023 Limited Edition (70cl, 59%)

Kanosuke Single Malt 2023 is a limited edition from the Kanosuke distillery in Kagoshima, southern Japan, bottled at a cask strength of 59% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery draws on the experience of Komasa Jyozo, a house known for making shochu since 1883. It combines peated spirit distilled in 2018 and 2019, matured in sherry casks, charred American white oak and former shochu casks. Three different pot stills contributed to the spirit. The nose has a veil of smoke with ripe plums, candied fruit, citrus and a little cinnamon. The palate is dense, with plum, cinnamon spice and soft smoke. The finish is long, with wood, light smoke and herbal notes.
