Kanosuke Single Malt Japanese Whisky 2023 Edition (70cl, 59%)

Kanosuke Single Malt Japanese Whisky 2023 Edition is the first peated expression from Kanosuke Distillery in Kagoshima. It is made from peated malt distilled in 2018 and 2019 and bottled at a cask strength of 59% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in a blend of re-charred American white oak barrels, previously used for Mellowed Kozaru Shochu, and ex-sherry casks. The distillery describes an interplay between light peat and sherry-influenced sweetness. The nose shows a light, distinctive peaty ashiness with spiced honey.
