Kanosuke Single Malt Japanese Whisky First Release 2021 (70cl, 58%)

This is the first single malt released by Kanosuke Distillery, which was established in 2017 on the Kagoshima coast. It was made from unpeated malt distilled between 2017 and 2018, then aged for three years. The whisky matured in a selection of oak barrels, including re-charred American white oak casks that previously held Mellowed Kozuru aged shochu. It was bottled at cask strength, 58% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The nose is fruity and sweet, with ripe peach, apple and honeyed citrus.
