Kanosuke – Single Malt Shochu Casks (48%)

Kanosuke Single Malt is the first standard bottling from the Kanosuke distillery, which stands on Fukiagehama, one of the longest sandy beaches in Japan. It is bottled at 48% ABV. The spirit is distilled in three pot stills, each with a different neck shape and lyne arm angle. It matures in American oak casks that previously held Mellowed Kozuru shochu, a traditional Japanese spirit made by the distillery's parent company. Flavours move from caramel, banana and tea with lemon to honey and quince sweets, cinnamon, ginger and a hint of smoked nuts. The finish fades slowly with a fine bitterness and sweetness.
