Kavalan 15 Year Old is a single malt released in 2025 as the first bottling in the Time Exploration series. Production is 30,000 bottles.
It was matured in four types of cask: Bourbon, Oloroso sherry, Ruby Port and Puncheon. The distillery credits the subtropical climate, which speeds up maturation, for the intense, luscious fruitiness this 15-year-old has already developed.
The nose offers caramel apple mousse, fresh chocolate, walnut cinnamon rolls and creamy popcorn, with dried tangerine peel and plum. On the palate, bergamot, lemon, orange and grapefruit meet dried cranberries, raisins and longan, then dark chocolate gelato. The finish carries woody cinnamon spice.
