Kavalan Bourbon Oak is a Taiwanese single malt matured in ex-bourbon casks of American white oak and reduced to 46% ABV with Kavalan spring water. For this bottling the inner surface of the casks is shaved away, then re-toasted and recharred. It is uncoloured and not chill-filtered, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings tropical fruit, mango, vanilla, coconut and spice, with a light honey note. On the palate it is light and creamy, with cooked apples and raisins, vanilla ice cream, coconut and gentle oak spice. The finish is creamy vanilla with a hint of ice cream cone and cinnamon, along with mango, apricot, mandarin, orange, cardamom and pepper.
