Kavalan – Concertmaster Port Cask Finish

Kavalan Concertmaster is a single malt from Taiwan's Kavalan distillery, founded in 2005. Warm, humid weather speeds up maturation there. This bottling carries no age statement. It was aged in American oak ex-bourbon casks, then finished in three kinds of port cask: ruby, tawny and vintage. The whisky is amber with red reflections. The nose is fruity, with red berries, vanilla, cloves and red apples. The palate is sweet, with brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger and vanilla alongside red grape and dried fruit. The finish is soft and fruity, with plums, strawberries, brown sugar and vanilla.
