Kavalan Solist Peaty Single Cask is a Taiwanese single malt bottled from one cask that previously matured peated Scotch whisky. Only 116 bottles were filled. Peat is not available in Taiwan, so the smoke here comes from the cask, which formerly held whisky from Islay. The result layers Kavalan's tropical notes with a hint of smoke. Kavalan was established in 2005 as the first distillery on the island, in Yilan County, where the subtropical climate and an average temperature of 22 degrees Celsius speed maturation.
