Kavalan – Solist Sherry Cask Strength

This is a single malt from the Kavalan distillery in Taiwan, built in 2005. Kavalan Solist whiskies are bottled from single casks at cask strength, and this one matured in Oloroso sherry casks. The whisky is not chill-filtered and has a henna-red colour. The maturation was four to five years. The bottle carries the cask type and a serial number. The nose combines intense sherry notes, spices, nuts and a little eucalyptus. The palate is full and round, with fresh strawberries, sweet cherries and a hint of dark chocolate. The finish is long and intense, with dark chocolate.
