Kavalan – Solist Single Malt ex-Bourbon Cask (70cl, 55.6%)

A single cask Kavalan Solist single malt from Taiwan, matured in a selected American ex-bourbon cask. As a single cask bottling it shows that cask's individual influence, with vanilla and coconut alongside tropical fruit and oak spice. The whisky matured in Taiwan, where warmth and high humidity speed its development. It is bottled at cask strength, 55.6%, in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour. The nose brings intense vanilla and coconut with fruity sweetness, tropical fruit, spice, malt and fresh oak. The palate is creamy and silky, with vanilla, fruity sweetness, caramel and fine wood. The long finish moves from fruity sweetness to a dry bitterness, with warmth and oak.
