Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique is a single cask single malt from Taiwan, distilled on 10 February 2017 and bottled on 21 August 2024 at 58.6%, in a 70cl bottle. 159 bottles were filled.
It matured in American oak barriques that previously held red or white wine, with the insides shaved, toasted and re-charred before filling. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
The nose offers ripe grapes, cinnamon and clove with mango, passion fruit and guava. The palate is full, with wilted rose petals, ginger and black pepper. The finish is long and mineral, with blackberry, blackcurrant, walnut and vanilla.
