Kavalan – Triple Sherry Cask Single Malt Whisky

A single malt from Kavalan in Taiwan, matured in three kinds of sherry cask: Pedro Ximénez, Moscatel and Oloroso. The Oloroso supplies the dried fruit character, while the other two casks add sweetness. The colour is a deep scarlet. The nose is full of red berries, fig bread, dates, blueberries and grapes, with cinnamon, brown sugar pastry, toffee and milk chocolate. The palate is rich with dates, rum raisins, candied fruit, honey and red oranges, plus cloves, Christmas cake and caramel. It finishes with chocolate, caramel, nuts and toasted wood.
