Kilbeggan Single Grain is an Irish whiskey bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle. It is distilled twice in a continuous column still at Cooley Distillery in County Louth, from a mashbill of 94% corn and 6% malted barley.
The spirit is first matured in ex-bourbon barrels, then married with whiskey aged in different fortified wine casks.
On the nose it is caramel and vanilla with fresh grass, new suede, coconut cream and sponge cake. The palate is buttery, with biscuit, apricot, jellied fruit and a little nutmeg. The finish is medium in length, with oak, lime peel, vanilla and a peppery touch.
