This is a 14-year-old single cask Islay single malt from Kilchoman, matured in an ex-bourbon barrel. It was chosen by the distillery together with La Maison du Whisky for the French market, to mark Feis Ile 2021, and 240 bottles were filled.
The spirit was distilled from heavily peated malt at 50 PPM. Kilchoman is a family-run farm distillery founded in 2005, and this cask is one of its oldest.
The nose brings fresh citrus and yellow fruit with peaty smoke, sweet pastry in the manner of salted butter caramel, and a maritime touch.
