This is a 16 year old Islay single malt from Kilchoman, released in 2023 as a limited edition of 5000 bottles at 50% in a 70cl bottle. It is the oldest Kilchoman release to date.
The whisky is a combination of 21 casks, mostly ex-bourbon with a touch of ex-Faroloso sherry.
The nose offers dried figs and raisins with vanilla and honey, a little citrus and gentle peat smoke. On the palate it is soft and full-bodied, with caramel, dark chocolate and spiced oak set against sweet sherry notes and peat. The finish is long and warming, with toasted oak, sweet malt and a fading trace of smoke.
