Kilchoman 8 Year Old 2013 is a single cask Islay single malt, matured in an ex-Oloroso sherry hogshead and bottled at 58% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery and La Maison du Whisky chose it for the French market, in honour of the Islay festival Feis Ile 2021.
Kilchoman is a family-run farm distillery on Rockside Farm, founded in 2005. The sherry cask is said to shape the whisky from the first sip to the last, alongside the peat smoke of the spirit.
It is described as rich and peaty, with dried and red fruit, sweet spices such as cinnamon and clove, chocolate, tobacco and leather.
