A peated Islay single malt from Kilchoman, distilled in 2019 and bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. This 2026 edition is a vatting of 33 first-fill ex-Cognac barriques, and the whisky spent its whole maturation in them with no finishing stage.
It belongs to Kilchoman's Not A Finish series, which explores full-term maturation in experimental casks, and follows the Maury Cask Matured expression. It is non-chill-filtered and natural colour.
The nose is ripe pears and apples with peat smoke, honey, toasted nuts and baking spices. The palate is buttery, with baked fruit, honeycomb and salty sweetness. The finish is drying smoke with lasting sweetness and mellow fruit.
