Kilchoman – Fino Sherry Cask Matured 2023 Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 50%)

This is a 2023 release of Kilchoman single malt Scotch whisky matured in fino sherry casks, bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill filtered. Kilchoman's founder, Anthony Wills, sourced twenty fino butts from Bodega Jose y Miguel Martin in Jerez. The peaty, maritime malt was aged for over five years before bottling in 2023. Fino is a light, dry and slightly salty style of sherry. In the glass the whisky is described as having a salt and pepper tang, with more creaminess than is usual for Kilchoman.
