Kilchoman – Loch Gorm 2024 (70cl, 46%)

Loch Gorm 2024 is the yearly sherry-matured release from Kilchoman, an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It takes its name from Islay's largest freshwater loch, which lies next to the distillery. It is bottled without added colour and without chill-filtering, in an edition of 18,000 bottles. The whisky was distilled in 2014 and matured in 23 Oloroso sherry casks, a mix of butts and hogsheads, all from the Bodega José y Miguel Martín. The nose brings sweet barbecue smoke, stewed fruit, dark chocolate and dried figs. On the palate, gentle peat smoke meets honey, toasted nuts, cinnamon and malted barley, and the finish is fresh with citrus and rich toffee.
