This is a five-year-old Islay single malt from Kilchoman, distilled in May 2016 and bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle.
It spent five years, three months and 46 days in 46 fresh Madeira hogsheads. The fresh casks give juicy fortified-wine notes and a rich mahogany colour.
The nose is caramel, orange zest and ripe plums, with spice and plenty of smoke. On the palate come lemon zest with peach, raisins, walnuts and dark chocolate, and the finish brings burnt sugar, dark fruit and Christmas cake.
