Kilchoman Sanaig Cask Strength is a limited edition single malt from Islay, released in 2024 in a 70cl bottle at 57.8% ABV. Sanaig takes its name from an inlet on the island's rugged Atlantic coast.
The whisky was matured in a combination of Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks, with a high proportion of Oloroso. That sherry influence brings dried fruits and spice to Kilchoman's citrus sweetness and peat smoke.
The nose offers toffee sweetness, dark fruits, red berries and smoked oak. The palate is intensely sweet, with spiced dark chocolate, raisins, liquorice and rich peat smoke. The finish is long, with sweetness and spice and smoke running through it.
