Kilkerran 8 Year Old Bourbon Cask is a Campbeltown single malt from Glengyle distillery, in a 750ml bottle at a cask strength of about 55.8% ABV. It is not chill-filtered.
The barley is lightly peated, at around 15 ppm phenols, and the whisky was matured for eight years in ex-bourbon casks only, with no sherry influence.
The nose combines peat with lime, lemon curd, cooked orchard fruit, honey and a saline note. The palate is oily and creamy, with banoffee pie, vanilla custard, salt and seaweed. The finish is long and coastal, with sea salt, brine, gorse and a trace of peat smoke.
