This is a lightly peated pure malt whisky from the Koshi-No Shinobu Distillery in Niigata, Japan, finished in Mizunara Japanese oak. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour. Mizunara oak is known for flavours of apple, pear, clove and nutmeg, and it has been used in Japan since the 1930s. The nose is minty and creamy, with light peat, a touch of lemon and hints of charcoal ash. The palate is moderately peaty, with toasted oak, dry grass and a hint of saltiness. The finish is lingering toasted wood with sweetness from roasted malt.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
