Kujira 5 Year Old is a Japanese whisky from Ryukyu, made from 100% Indica rice. It was matured for more than five years in white oak casks in the subtropical climate at the southern end of Okinawa, and is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
It has a woody aroma and dark fruit flavour, with a smooth, mellow body.
On the nose there is caramel, vanilla and a little liquorice, with oak spice. The palate is sweet caramel and fresh vanilla with a hint of tannin, and the finish is mellow and sweet, with woody notes and pepper.
