Kujira Ryukyu is a 20 year old Japanese whisky finished in bourbon casks, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is toasted cereal grains with a pleasant buttery quality. The palate is supple and smooth, with salted caramel, pastry crust and honeyed oats, and brown butter balances the sweet grain.
Another set of notes describes citrus, cedar and vanilla on the nose, and a sweet palate of tropical fruit and crème brûlée.
