Kujira Ryukyu Whisky 5 Year Old is a Japanese whisky made from 100% Indica rice, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It matured for more than five years in first-fill white oak casks, in the subtropical climate at the southern end of Okinawa. The body is smooth and mellow, with a woody aroma and dark fruit flavour.
The nose offers caramel, vanilla and a little liquorice, with oak and spice. Caramel and fresh vanilla lead the palate, with a hint of oak tannin. The finish is smooth, mellow and sweet, with woody notes and peppery spice.
