This is a 16 year old Lagavulin from Islay, distilled in 2002 and bottled in 2018. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky is double matured, with a finishing period in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
The nose combines pronounced peat smoke with dark fruits, honey, wax and ash, plus a subtle sour note. On the palate, abundant smoke and ash sit alongside mineral notes and a delicate fruit sweetness. The finish is long, with enduring smokiness.
