Lagavulin 21 Year Old is an Islay single malt distilled in 1985 and bottled in 2007 at a natural cask strength of 56.5%, in a 70cl bottle. It is known as Serge's Favourite, and it was matured only in Spanish sherry casks made from European oak rather than American oak. The nose combines peat and sherry, with menthol, hazelnut oil, prunes, orange marmalade, smoked ham, eucalyptus and sea water. The palate is peaty and punchy, with pepper, walnuts, crystallised ginger, liquorice, tar, bitter oranges and a growing saltiness. The finish is very long, concentrated, salty and liquoricy.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
