This is a 25 year old Islay single malt from Lagavulin, bottled at 51.7% in a 70cl bottle for Feis Ile 2016. That year marked the 200th anniversary of the distillery's founding, and the whisky was released in honour of the managers who have shaped it. The label lists each of their names.
It was aged in sherry casks.
The nose offers pu-erh tea, cigar ashes, smoke, beef jerky, cured ham and crystallised oranges. On the palate, lemony freshness runs alongside tarry oranges, tobacco and leather, with bitter orange, coriander and cardamom. The finish is long and grassy, with leather and a lift of lemon.
