Lakeview Single Estate Whiskey 3rd Edition 7 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

This is the third edition of Lakeview Single Estate Whiskey, a seven-year-old Irish single pot still. The barley is grown on the Lakeview Estate. Half of it is malted in small batches and then used together with unmalted barley. It matured in ex-bourbon casks, including five years in Grand Cru Bordeaux casks, and was finished in ex-peated casks, which leave only a faint touch of smoke. It is bottled at 46%, with natural colour and without chill-filtration. The nose combines cherries, honey and spice. The palate is full and honey-sweet, with a little fruit and very light smoke, and the finish is long, fruity and spicy.
