Laphroaig 10 Year Old Sherry Oak Finish is an Islay single malt that starts as the classic Laphroaig 10 Year Old, aged in ex-bourbon barrels. It then rests in hand-selected European oak Oloroso sherry casks, which add sweetness and depth.
The tasting notes describe a sweet, peaty nose with medicinal notes of Manuka honey, bandages, antiseptic lotion and iodine, alongside clove, grilled smoky bacon, sweet leather and pine tar. The palate is sweet and aromatic, with wax and furniture polish, treacle toffee, maple syrup and bitter dark chocolate, then pencil shavings, pine needle and cedar.
