Laphroaig – 16 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) (70cl, 48.8%)

This is a 16 year old Laphroaig, an Islay single malt bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company at 48.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is bottled at natural high strength and without chill filtration. The whisky comes from hand-selected Laphroaig casks matured for sixteen years. The nose is of dense peat smoke, iodine, seaweed and charred oak, with dark citrus and a salty edge. The palate is oily, with peat, burnt caramel, peppered smoke, leather and roasted malt. The finish is long and smoky, with ash, salted chocolate, warm spice and sea spray.
