A 2012 Special Release of Laphroaig 18 Years Old, made to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Only 3,000 bottles were released, each in a specially designed tube, at 48% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose combines creamy vanilla, honey and dried fruits with subtle peat smoke and oak. On the palate come soft spices, dark chocolate and caramel, with a creamy texture and Laphroaig's peat smoke running throughout. The finish lingers with sweet oak, vanilla and a touch of brine.
