Laphroaig – 1967 27 Year Old Signatory Vintage Cask 2957 (70cl, 50.1%)

This is a single cask Laphroaig from Islay, distilled in 1967 and bottled in 1994 by Signatory Vintage at 27 years old. It was bottled at a cask strength of 50.1% in a 70cl bottle, from oak casks, and 208 bottles were filled. It was distilled in the year the distillery was sold to Long John International. The nose is medicinal, with cough syrup and orange marmalade, butter, seaweed, seashells, lemons and kippers, plus passion fruit, guava and kumquat. On the palate it is full-bodied and direct, with oysters, pepper, peat, citrus fruits, butter pears, salt and quince. The finish is very long and salty.
